Optimal Placement and Size of SVC with Cost-Effective Function Using Genetic Algorithm for Voltage Profile Improvement in Renewable Integrated Power Systems

Given the concern for maintaining voltage stability in power systems integrated with renewable due to a mismatch generation and demand, there remains need invoke flexible alternating current transmission system (FACTS) devices distribution network. The present paper deals identifying locations of placement static var compensator an experimental IEEE 14-bus system; drop different buses is calculated by standard formula. total network (TVDN) also as reference. ranking order decreasing made, weak are identified those showing maximum or near-maximum installation Static Var Compensator (SVC). optimum usable size using Genetic Algorithm approach optimize cost. After optimization, installing 2 MW solar generator considered most potential bus, which suffers from drops loss. Based on at weakest loss compared similar method assess efficiency proposed model.
