چکیده
A multifold Hopf semimetal is a topological point node possessing an anisotropy in the internal electronic structure, e.g., dipole structure of Berry curvature. In this paper, unique features threefold semimetals terms optical conductivity are theoretically investigated with minimal theoretical model by using linear response theory for linearly polarized photon. The frequency spectrum shows anisotropic dependence on polarization angle incident photon even if band completely isotropic. longitudinal depends and possesses steplike changes spectrum. has varying number steps orientation axis. We reveal that attributed to symmetries preserving fermion qualitatively different from so-called spin-1 fermion. also induces Hall current, but it vanishes axis parallel numerical calculations show these characteristic can be observed nonzero temperature disorder.

Universal optical conductivity of a disordered Weyl semimetal
Topological Weyl semimetals, besides manifesting chiral anomaly, can also accommodate a disorder-driven unconventional quantum phase transition into a metallic phase. A fundamentally and practically important question in this regard concerns an experimentally measurable quantity that can clearly distinguish these two phases. We show that the optical conductivity while serving this purpose can a...

The optical properties of layered tungsten ditelluride have been measured over a wide temperature and frequency range for light polarized in the a-b planes. A striking low-frequency plasma edge develops in the reflectance at low temperature where this material is a perfectly compensated semimetal. The optical conductivity is described using a two-Drude model which treats the electron and hole p...

Using ab initio density functional theory the band structure and the dielectric function of a bct Cd3As2 crystal are calculated. We find a Dirac semimetal with two Dirac nodes k± near the Γ point on the tetragonal axis. The bands near the Fermi level exhibit a linear behavior. The resulting Dirac cones are anisotropic and the electron-hole symmetry is destroyed along the tetragonal axis. Along ...
