چکیده

Introduction Patient preferences (PPs) are an important source of evidence in health technology assessment (HTA). However, a methodological framework to achieve their integration decision-making is lacking. We aim investigate the potential role evaluative frameworks integrate PP into HTA and decision-making. Methods undertook scoping review identify consider acceptability these for decision-makers. searched PubMed, Cochrane, grey literature relevant studies, reports, or guidance documents. restricted our search use rather than patient experience data excluded articles solely relating deliberative approaches. Results Frameworks identified as having included cost-utility analysis, cost-consequence analysis (CCA), efficiency-frontier approach, multi-criteria decision analysis. All have been used various contexts, but not necessarily inclusion evidence. Distinct benefits challenges integrating were each framework. These theoretical basis frameworks, ability non-health well outcomes, separate outcomes based on PPs from population preferences. There limited no consensus application CCA has advantage that it both economic theory leaves disaggregated HTA. Conclusions The this offer approaches systematically transparently Based findings, we propose research agenda explore particular. anticipate findings will augment recommendations Innovative Medicines Initiative PREFER project, which expected report 2022.
