چکیده

All-Natural Pickering Double Emulsions A facile and green one-step emulsification approach using oppositely charged binary bio-based particles to readily prepare all-natural double emulsion is presented in article number 2101568 by Yunxing Li, Cheng Yang, To Ngai, co-workers. The formation of attributed the suitable wettability aggregates formed phase inversion during preparation. Furthermore, both hydrophobic hydrophilic components can be encapsulated protected.

Preparation of Pickering Double Emulsions Using Block Copolymer Worms

The rational formulation of Pickering double emulsions is described using a judicious combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic block copolymer worms as highly anisotropic emulsifiers. More specifically, RAFT dispersion polymerization was utilized to prepare poly(lauryl methacrylate)-poly(benzyl methacrylate) worms at 20% w/w solids in n-dodecane and poly(glycerol monomethacrylate)-poly(2-hydr...

Nanocellulose-stabilized Pickering emulsions and their applications

Pickering emulsion, which is an emulsion stabilized by solid particles, offers a wide range of potential applications because it generally provides a more stable system than surfactant-stabilized emulsion. Among various solid stabilizers, nanocellulose may open up new opportunities for future Pickering emulsions owing to its unique nanosizes, amphiphilicity, and other favorable properties (e.g....

Pickering emulsions stabilized by surface-modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles.

Unmodified Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles do not stabilize Pickering emulsions of a polar oil like butyl butyrate. In order to obtain stable emulsions, the Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles were modified by either carboxylic acid (RCOOH) or silane coupling agents (RSi(OC(2)H(5))(3)) to increase their hydrophobicity. The influence of such surface modification on the stability of the resultant Pickering emulsions...

Fluid-bicontinuous emulsions stabilized by colloidal particles

Using controlled spinodal decomposition, we have created a fluid-bicontinuous structure stabilized by colloidal particles. We present confocal microscopy studies of these structures and their variation with kinetic pathway. Our studies reveal a rigid multilayer of colloidal particles jammed at the interface which prevents the liquids demixing for many hours. The arrangement of two-fluid domains...

Bicontinuous emulsions stabilized solely by colloidal particles.

Recent large-scale computer simulations suggest that it may be possible to create a new class of soft solids, called 'bijels', by stabilizing and arresting the bicontinuous interface in a binary liquid demixing via spinodal decomposition using particles that are neutrally wetted by both liquids. The interfacial layer of particles is expected to be semi-permeable; hence, if realized, these new m...
