One-Step Fabrication of Iron Aluminide Containing Hydrophobic Modified Layers with Enhanced Anti-Corrosion Performance

نویسندگان

چکیده

An iron aluminide modified layer prepared by a novel powder mixed electrical discharge alloying (PMEDA) process with green compact aluminum electrode is conducted to improve the corrosion performance of work pieces. The phase composition and microstructure samples are analyzed Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) Transmission (TEM). Corrosion investigated electrochemical workstation mechanism resistance improvement explored. 12A exhibit hydrophobic 102.4° contact angle, while showing 669% 40% less current density in simulated aqueous condition comparison non-treated non-hydrophobic samples, respectively. These enhanced performances attributed synchronization surface, corrosion-proof dense, well-distributed layer.

High-temperature Corrosion Behavior of Iron Aluminide Alloys and Coatings

A multi-year effort has been focused on optimizing the long-term oxidation performance of ingot-processed (IP) and oxide-dispersion strengthened (ODS) Fe3Al and iron aluminidebased coatings. Based on results from several composition iterations, a Hf-doped alloy (Fe28Al-2Cr-0.05at.%Hf) has been developed with significantly better high temperature oxidation resistance than other iron aluminides. ...

High Temperature Deformation Behavior of Cr-containing Superplastic Iron Aluminide

Superplastic deformation and high temperature load relaxation behavior of coarse-grained iron aluminides with the composition of Fe-28 at.% Al have been investigated. A series of load relaxation and tensile tests were conducted at temperatures ranging from 600 to 850C. The flow curves obtained from load relaxation tests were found to have a sigmoidal shape and to exhibit stress vs. strain rate ...

Fabrication of Corrosion Resistance Micro-Nanostructured Superhydrophobic Anodized Aluminum in a One-Step Electrodeposition Process

The formation of low surface energy hybrid organic-inorganic micro-nanostructured zinc stearate electrodeposit transformed the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) surface to superhydrophobic, having a water contact angle of 160 ̋. The corrosion current densities of the anodized and aluminum alloy surfaces are found to be 200 and 400 nA/cm2, respectively. In comparison, superhydrophobic anodic aluminum o...

One-step fabrication of multifunctional micromotors.

Although artificial micromotors have undergone tremendous progress in recent years, their fabrication normally requires complex steps or expensive equipment. In this paper, we report a facile one-step method based on an emulsion solvent evaporation process to fabricate multifunctional micromotors. By simultaneously incorporating various components into an oil-in-water droplet, upon emulsificati...

Microstructure and Properties of Iron Aluminide Coatings

Corrosion-resistant coatings based on the iron aluminide intermetallic compound Fe3Al are currently being investigated for fossil energy applications. Fe3Al possesses excellent intrinsic high-temperature oxidation and sulfidation resistance, and a significant effort has been made in the development of bulk alloys based on it. While substantial progress has been made, the widespread use of these...
