One-Step Enameling and Sintering of Low-Carbon Steels

Powder technology allows manufacturing complex components with small tolerances, saving material without subsequent machining. There is a growing trend in using sintered steel the automotive industry. Within 2020, about 2544 million US dollars was invested for components. Not only does this industry uses components, but gas cooker also its burners since they are robust and usually demanded by Americans, forecasts of 1097 cookers 2020. Steel have ceramic coating on their surface, which means that burner manufactured two stages (casting enameling). This work aims to manufacture powder metallurgy, enameling sintering processes single step. To achieve aim, ASC100.29 iron has been characterized (flow rate, relative density morphology); subsequently, most suitable parameters compaction an adequate temperature were studied. Single-step achieved compacting at 500 MPa 850 °C 5 min. The necessary porosity mechanical anchoring substrate temperature. Bending resistance tests, scratching, degradation under high basic solution scanning electron microscopy used characterize validate obtained samples.
