One-Step Acid Bleachable Pretreatment with a Recyclable Acid Hydrotrope and Chlorate for Biomass Valorization

چکیده

Pretreatment is a necessary step to converting lignocellulosic biomass from its native form into more accessible for the value-added utilization of main components. Herein, we developed one-step acid bleachable pretreatment method using recyclable hydrotrope (p-toluenesulfonic acid, p-TsOH) and chlorate achieve fibers bleaching lignin extraction simultaneously. Under condition p-TsOH concentration 80 wt.%, temperature °C, time 45 min, 84.33% hemicelluloses 76.79% were dissolved out poplar wood. The obtained dispersed solids with whiteness 60.13% can be used papermaking or ethanol production. results quasi-simultaneous enzymatic saccharification combined fermentation (Q-SSF) pretreated substrate indicated that yield reached 39.30 ± 0.57 g/L 82.36 1.15%, respectively. According characterization, aromatic rings in extracted opened forming dicarboxylic acids as well derivatives due oxidation effect chlorate, which beneficial catalytic upgrading composites preparation. Therefore, this study important valorization biomass.

Rapid and near-complete dissolution of wood lignin at ≤80°C by a recyclable acid hydrotrope

We report the discovery of the hydrotropic properties of a recyclable aromatic acid, p-toluenesulfonic acid (p-TsOH), for potentially low-cost and efficient fractionation of wood through rapid and near-complete dissolution of lignin. Approximately 90% of poplar wood (NE222) lignin can be dissolved at 80°C in 20 min. Equivalent delignification using known hydrotropes, such as aromatic salts, can...

Peracetic Acid Pretreatment of Alfalfa Stem and Aspen Biomass

Alfalfa stems and ground aspen were exposed to peracetic acid (0.5 to 9% on biomass) at temperatures ranging from 40 to 100° C and reaction times from 1 to 5 hours. Glucose release as a percentage of total cellulose content was determined using subsequent standard enzymatic hydrolysis. Statistical analysis confirmed that aspen showed a strong response to peracetic acid addition rate. 9% peracet...

Silica-bonded n-propyldiethylenetriamine sulfamic acid as a recyclable solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of coumarin and biscoumarin derivatives

Silica-bonded n-propyldiethylenetriamine sulfamic acid (SBPDSA) was found as an efficient solid acid for the synthesis of coumarins. Coumarin derivatives were obtained via the Pechmann condensation reaction of phenols and β-keto-esters at 80 oC under solvent-free conditions. Also, biscoumarins were obtained via the condensation of aldehydes and 4-hydroxycoumarin in water at reflux conditions. T...

Fe3O4@silica sulfuric acid nanoparticles as a potent and recyclable solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of indole derivatives

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in aqueous NaOH. Then silica was coated on the obtained nanoparticles and the whole composite was functionalized with chlorosulfonic acid in CH2Cl2. The obtained nanocomposite (Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H) was characterized by FT-IR, VSM and XRD techniques and was used as an efficient catalyst in condensation reaction of ind...
