چکیده
In this paper, we propose a new simplified lattice Boltzmann method (SLBM) for magnetohydrodynamic flows that outperforms the classical one in terms of accuracy, while preserving its advantages. A very recent paper [De Rosis et al., “Double-D2Q9 models with extended equilibrium two-dimensional flows,” Phys. Fluids 33, 035143 (2021)] demonstrated SLBM enforces divergence-free condition magnetic field an excellent manner and involves lowest amount virtual memory. However, is characterized by poorest accuracy. Here, two-stage algorithm typical replaced one-stage procedure following approach devised non-conductive fluids effort [Delgado-Gutierrez “A single-step graphics processing unit high turbulent Int. J. Numer. Methods 93, 2339 (2021)]. The Chapman–Enskog expansion formally demonstrates consistency present scheme. resultant compact easily implemented. Given all these features, believe proposed candidate to perform numerical simulations two- three-dimensional flows.

Lattice Boltzmann and quantum lattice gas representations of one-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic turbulence
A simplified one-dimensional (1D) magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is solved using a lattice Boltzmann and a quantum lattice gas model. It is shown that the magnetic field decreases the strength of the velocity shock fronts, with marked spikes in the magnetic field strength that gradually broaden in time. There is very good agreement between the lattice Boltzmann model—a representation of non-linear ...
متن کاملPreconditioned lattice-Boltzmann method for steady flows.
In this paper we propose a preconditioned lattice Boltzmann (LB) method for steady incompressible flows. For steady flows, the macroscopic equations derived from this LB model are equivalent to those from the standard LB model, but with an improved eigenvalue system. The proposed model can be viewed as an explicit solver for preconditioned compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Linear stability ...
متن کاملLattice-Boltzmann Method for Geophysical Plastic Flows
We explore possible applications of the Lattice-Boltzmann Method for the simulation of geophysical flows. This fluid solver, while successful in other fields, is still rarely used for geotechnical applications. We show how the standard method can be modified to represent freesurface realization of mudflows, debris flows, and in general any plastic flow, through the implementation of a Bingham c...
متن کاملLattice Boltzmann Method for Fluid Flows
We present an overview of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), a parallel and efficient algorithm for simulating single-phase and multiphase fluid flows and for incorporating additional physical complexities. The LBM is especially useful for modeling complicated boundary conditions and multiphase interfaces. Recent extensions of this method are described, including simulations of fluid turbulenc...
متن کاملA Simplified Curved Boundary Condition in Stationary/Moving Boundaries for the Lattice Boltzmann Method
Lattice Boltzmann method is one of computational fluid dynamic subdivisions. Despite complicated mathematics involved in its background, end simple relations dominate on it; so in comparison to the conventional computational fluid dynamic methods, simpler computer programs are needed. Due to its characteristics for parallel programming, this method is considered efficient for the simulation of ...
