چکیده
A simplified population balance model has been developed to predict the Sauter mean diameter, and optimize any breakage coalescence kernel. Firstly, shortcut is detailed, simplifying assumptions are argued. Then applied in a comparison of 60 combinations selection classical breakage, collision frequency efficiency kernels. The models fitted then compared with an experimental dataset measured two different technologies interest for biotechnology: bubble columns (Gemello et al., 2018), stirred tanks (Cappello 2020). best kernels identified each flow configuration separately, some as giving acceptable predictions simultaneously both flows (average error on size less than 20%).

Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Bubbly Flows
A mathematical model for turbulent gas-liquid flows with mass transfer and chemical reactions is presented and a robust solution strategy based on nested iterations is proposed for the numerical treatment of the intricately coupled PDEs. In particular, the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved by a discrete projection scheme from the family of Pressure Schur Complement methods. Nove...

A finite element approach for solving gas-liquid flows with mass transfer and chemical reactions is presented. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equations coupled with a modified k − ε turbulence model for computation of the eddy viscosity are solved by a discrete projection scheme from the family of Pressure Schur Complement methods. Additionally, the simplified two-fluid (Euler-Euler) model ba...

متن کاملOne-dimensional Bubbly Cavitating Flows through a Converging-diverging Nozzle
A non-barotropic continuum bubbly mixture model is used to study the one-dimensional cavitating ow through a converging-diverging nozzle. The nonlinear dynamics of the cavitation bubbles are modeled by the Rayleigh-Plesset equation. Analytical results show that the bubble/bubble interaction through the hydrodynamics of the surrounding liquid has important e ects on this con ned ow eld. One clea...
