5 A theory for one dimensional asynchronous chemical wave
Based on analytic calculations we identify the local structures which changes the parity of the global traveling wave states on its either sides. We establish the fact that competition of Turing and Hopf modes and multi-stability is not an essential ingredient for the generation of asynchronous one dimensional wave rather, close to a purely Hopf instability boundary and well in the region where...
متن کاملA ug 2 00 6 A theory for one dimensional asynchronous chemical wave
We present a theory for experimentally observed phenomenon of one dimensional asynchronous waves. The general principle of coexistence of linear and nonlinear solutions of a dynamical system is underlying the present theoretical work. The result has been proposed analytically and numerical simulations are produced in support of the analytical results. One dimensional asynchronous chemical waves...
متن کاملOne Dimensional Asynchronous Cooperative Parrondo’s Games
An analytical result and an algorithm are derived for the probability distribution of the one-dimensional cooperative Parrondo’s games. We show that winning and the occurrence of the paradox depends on the number of players. Analytical results are compared to the results of the computer simulation and to the results based on the mean-field approach.
متن کاملStability analysis of one-dimensional asynchronous swarms
Coordinated swarm behavior in certain types of animals can also occur in groups of autonomous vehicles. Swarm “cohesiveness” is characterized as a stability property. Conditions for one-dimensional asynchronous swarms to achieve collision-free convergence even in the presence of sensing delays and asynchronism during movements are provided. Each finite-size swarm member has proximity sensors an...
متن کاملSources and holes in a one-dimensional traveling-wave convection experiment.
We study dynamical behavior of local structures, such as sources and holes, in traveling-wave patterns in a very long (2 m) heated wire convection experiment. The sources undergo a transition from stable coherent behavior to erratic behavior when the driving parameter epsilon is decreased. This transition, as well as the scaling of the average source width in the erratic regime are both qualita...
