On the Shielding Effectiveness Calculation of Enclosures Through Measurements in Reverberation Chambers

The IEC 61000-4-21 and IEEE 299.1 documents report similar but not equal procedures to measure the shielding effectiveness (SE) of enclosures through use reverberation chambers. In this article, it is shown that these two measurement can be merged in a single, enhanced, one. particular, evaluation SE enclosure Annex H 61000-4-21, which exploits only mechanical stirring, improved by using hybrid includes also frequency thus increasing number uncorrelated samples. On other hand, at low frequencies based on definition maximum values measured powers rather than average ones. proposed procedure provides more prudent standards frequencies, especially for standard 299.1. presented approach supported results obtained three different laboratories.
