On Long-Range Characteristic Length Scales of Shell Structures

چکیده
Shell structures have a rich family of boundary layers including internal layers. Each layer has its own characteristic length scale, which depends on the thickness shell. Some these scales are long, something that is not commonly considered in literature. In this work, three types long-range demonstrated over an extensive set simulations. The observed asymptotic behavior consistent with theoretical predictions. These shown to also appear perforated underlying fact features properties elasticity equations and dependent effective material parameters. simulations performed using high-order finite element method implementation Naghdi-type dimensionally reduced shell model. Additionally, effect perforations first eigenmodes discussed. One possible model for buckling analysis outlined.

Long-Range Correlations in Closed Shell Nuclei
The effects of correlations on the bulk properties of nuclei are investigated in large model spaces including up to 21 single-particle orbits. The evaluation of the single-particle Green function is made feasible by means of the BAGEL approximation. The spectral function for single-nucleon pick-up and removal is investigated for the nuclei 16O and 40Ca. Special attention is paid to the effects ...

متن کاملRotational structures of long-range diatomic molecules
We present a systematic understanding of the rotational structure of a long-range (vibrationally highly-excited) diatomic molecule. For example, we show that depending on a quantum defect, the leastbound vibrational state of a diatomic molecule with −Cn/r (n > 2) asymptotic interaction can have only 1, 2, and up to a maximum of n − 2 rotational levels. A classification scheme of diatomic molecu...
متن کاملX-ray synchrotron study of liquid-vapor interfaces at short length scales: effect of long-range forces and bending energies.
We have investigated the small-scale structure of the liquid-vapor interface using synchrotron x-ray scattering for liquids with different molecular structures and interactions. The effective momentum-dependent surface energy first decreases from its macroscopic value due to the effect of long-range forces, and then increases with increasing wave vector. The results are analyzed using a recent ...
متن کاملIndependent and collective roles of surface structures at different length scales on pool boiling heat transfer
Spherical Cu nanocavity surfaces are synthesized to examine the individual role of contact angles in connecting lateral Rayleigh-Taylor wavelength to vertical Kevin-Helmholtz wavelength on hydrodynamic instability for the onset of pool boiling Critical Heat Flux (CHF). Solid and porous Cu pillar surfaces are sintered to investigate the individual role of pillar structure pitch at millimeter sca...
