On Eigenvalue And Eigenvector Perceptions of Undergraduate Pre-service Mathematics Teachers

Analysis of systems that can be expressed in matrices is very important the field application. Whether such a system works properly determined by eigenvalues matrix representing system. Eigenvalue and eigenvector concepts are taught within scope linear algebra course at undergraduate level. In this study, perceptions students who took about eigenvalue-eigenvector investigated. The research conducted with participation 95 from Faculty Education, Department Mathematics Education. A scale measuring students’ approached eigen theory was developed. For reliability scale, Kuder-Richardson 20 (KR-20) analysis done 0,72 obtained. To see relationship between learning outcomes academic achievement used chi-square test descriptive made study. Problems arising perception eigenvalue solutions presented.
