چکیده
A reversible switchable on-demand UV-triggered drug delivery system (DDS) based on interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) with silicone as the host and spiropyran (SP)-functionalized guest is designed demonstrated. The photo-responsive IPNs provide a new triggered concept they exploit change in intermolecular interactions (work of adhesion) among drug, matrix, solvent when incorporated hydrophobic SP moieties transform into hydrophilic merocyanine form upon light irradiation without degradation disruption DDS. how copolymer composition (hydrophilicity content) lipophilicity (log P) affect release profile was investigated. thermodynamic model, Hansen solubility parameters, developed to design optimize obtain most efficient light-triggered suppression premature release. showed excellent result for dopamine, l-dopa, prednisone around 90–95% model applied study behavior drugs different log P estimate if light-induced hydrophobic-to-hydrophilic switch can overcome work adhesion between polymers hence desorption drugs. To best our knowledge, this first time that used aim. Comparing obtained from experiment shows useful evaluating estimating specific merocyanine, IPN, DDS, spiropyran.
