On Boundary Conditions for Damage Openings in RoPax-Ship Survivability Computations

چکیده

The survivability of a damaged RoPax ship in the case flooding accident can be critical, as these ships have tendency for rapid capsize. Various simulation tools are presently use to study behavior and cruise ships. Recent benchmark tests show that numerical this purpose very useful, but their accuracy reliability still leave something desired. In many codes survivability, water inflow outflow through damage opening modeled with Bernoulli equation, which describes steady flow an inertial frame reference. This equation takes neither floodwater inertia into account nor does it regard effect motions on opening. Thus, there some approximations involved purpose. Some alternative formulations possible. sheds light question how relevant is more complicated instead simple robust model sea.
