چکیده
Agroforestry systems can be an effective means of stabilizing or even enhancing crop yields under climate change. Although trees compete with crops for soil resources in agroforestry, they also improve crops' growing conditions, especially, by providing shade drought. They promote higher and harvest quality the drylands. However, beneficial effect tree may depend on seasonal pattern rainfall, which determines compensation between yield components. In this study, we evaluated two annual (durum wheat faba bean) olive agroforestry northern Morocco. We manipulated water supply a field experiment to span high inter-annual rainfall variability at site tested whether reduce yields. assessed addition growth, components, final estimated land equivalent ratio agroforestry. limited growth whatever regime. Agroforestry, the deliberate integration of trees into crop and livestock operations, has the potential to achieve many of the environmental, economic, and social objectives being demanded from working landscapes by landowners and society. To simultaneously address these diverse landowner and societal goals, a multi-scale planning process must be utilized. This planning process can be expedited...
متن کاملConsideration of Water Productivity for Farm Water Management in Different Conditions of Water Availability for Dominant Summer Crops
ABSTRACT- Efficient use of irrigation water for summer crops should be considered seriously due to rare occurrence of precipitation in summer. This research was focused on the assessment of water use efficiency for dominant crops of summer cropping pattern in the study area (i.e., maize and rice) via considering water productivity (WP) with different water management scenarios at farm level at ...

In order to calibrate and validate the PILOTE model for rice in a humid climate, this study was carried in a randomized complete block design with three replications on a popular local variety, Hashemi, during 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007 crop seasons. This research was done at the Rice Research Institute of Rasht, Iran. Evaluation of simulated and measured grain yield and dry matter values ...
متن کاملCan elevated CO(2) improve salt tolerance in olive trees?
We compared growth, leaf gas exchange characteristics, water relations, chlorophyll fluorescence, and Na(+) and Cl(-) concentration of two cultivars ('Koroneiki' and 'Picual') of olive (Olea europaea L.) trees in response to high salinity (NaCl 100mM) and elevated CO(2) (eCO(2)) concentration (700microLL(-1)). The cultivar 'Koroneiki' is considered to be more salt sensitive than the relatively ...
