Off-Design Dynamic Performance Analysis of a Solar Aided Coal-Fired Power Plant

Coal consumption and CO2 emissions are the major concerns of 21st century. Solar aided (coal-fired) power generation (SAPG) is paid more attention globally, due to lesser coal rate initial cost than original coal-fired plant CSP technology respectively. In this paper, off-design dynamic performance simulation model a solar established. A 330 MW subcritical taken as case study. On typical day, three various collector area fields integrated into plant. By introducing heat, variations system performances analyzed at design load, 75% 50% load. Analyzed parameters with change DNI include thermal oil mass flow rate, feed water heated by energy, steam extraction consumption, efficiency. The research results show that, increases over saving will also increase, maximum reaches up 5%, efficiency 40%. It that SAPG gives best lower load large aperture area.
