Off-Cycle Emissions of Particle Number from Gasoline and DPF Diesel Passenger Cars in High-Load Conditions

نویسندگان

چکیده

To evaluate regulated gases and solid particle number (SPN) emissions in high-load off-cycle conditions, two diesel vehicles with a particulate filter (DPF) urea selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, respectively, four gasoline port fuel injection (PFI) were tested the worldwide light-duty test cycle, including an extra-high (Ex-hi) phase. All developed for Japanese market did not comply Ex-hi exhibited higher CO2 phase than low, mid high phases. Increased NOx SPN10-23 observed DPF vehicle. These increased due to occurrence of passive regeneration DPF, SCR system was stopped as result. The small PFI cars showed CO SPN enrichment control, which occurred quite load operation condition. feature control differed from that warming-up process cold-start mode. SPN23 mainly process, whereas control. Hybrid seem have fewer opportunities show motor assist.

NOx Emissions from Diesel Passenger Cars Worsen with Age.

Commonly, the NOx emissions rates of diesel vehicles have been assumed to remain stable over the vehicle's lifetime. However, there have been hardly any representative long-term emission measurements. Here we present real-driving emissions of diesel cars and light commercial vehicles sampled on-road over 15 years in Zurich/Switzerland. Results suggest deterioration of NOx unit emissions for Eur...

Real-world emissions of gasoline passenger cars in Macao and their correlation with driving conditions

Using a portable emissions measurement system, 16 gasoline passenger cars were tested on a fixed route consisting of different types of roads in Macao and the data were normalized with the vehicle-specific power bin method. The normalized HC, CO and NOX emission levels of the seven passenger car samples with model year older than 2000 were 3.19 ± 5.04, 14.59 ± 22.88, 2.57 ± 2.12 g/km, respectiv...

Physicochemical and redox characteristics of particulate matter (PM) emitted from gasoline and diesel passenger cars

Particulate matter (PM) originating from mobile sources has been linked to a myriad of adverse health outcomes, ranging from cancer to cardiopulmonary disease, and an array of environmental problems, including global warming and acid rain. Till date, however, it is not clear which physical characteristics or chemical constituents of PM are significant contributors to the magnitude of the health...

Particle Number Emissions During Regeneration of DPF-equipped Light Duty Diesel Vehicles A Literature Survey

The study reviews published work on the particle emissions during regeneration of diesel particulate filters in anattempt to assess the PMP methodology under these operating conditions. During regeneration of the DPF asignificant increase of the emitted number of particles is observed. Size spectra reveal a nucleation modepeaking at approximately 10 nm, at concentrations that ca...

Carbonyl compound emissions from passenger cars fueled with methanol/gasoline blends.

Carbonyl compound emissions from two passenger cars fueled with different methanol/gasoline blends (M15 and M100) and operated with three-way catalytic converters (TWC) were investigated. The tests were performed on a chassis dynamometer with constant volume sampling over the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Carbonyls were trapped on dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) cartridges. The hydrazones fo...
