Ocular Manifestations in Epstein Barr Virus Infection
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), a member of the Herpesvirus family, occurs commonly and infects more than 90% people worldwide. Most systemic EBV infections throughout childhood adulthood are typically asymptomatic or paucisymptomatic. Even though ocular involvements in infrequently reported, an increasing number manifestations have been previously reported . Ocular manifestation caused by infection involved all segments eye, including oculoglandular syndrome, dry eye dacryoadenitis, conjunctivitis, episcleritis, keratitis, uveitis, choroiditis, retinitis, retinal vasculitis, papillitis. Previous reports found neurologic complications such as papilledema, optic neuritis, ophthalmoplegia, impaired accommodation, facial nerve palsy. Any atypical inflammatory process should be considered differential diagnosis. varied not emphasized. And role fully described.

Seropidemiology of Epstein – Barr virus infection among asymptomatic
Introduction: Epstein – Barr virus (EBV) is a herpesvirus which establishes a persistent life-long infection in over 95% of adults world wide. Infection is usually asymptomatic but the virus is associated with a variety of disease, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), Burkitt’s lymphoma (BL), Multiple sclerosis MS, EBV-associated B-cell lymphoproliferative disease (BLPD), Hodgkin and non...
متن کاملUnusual neurologic manifestations associated with Epstein-Barr virus infection.
We describe two patients who displayed unusual neurologic manifestations associated with reactivation of latent Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. The patients included a 34-year-old woman who suffered from meningoencephalitis presenting with symptoms identical to those of transient global amnesia, and a 57-year-old man with jumbling phenomenon and gait ataxia. The protean neurologic manifesta...
متن کاملMolecular evidence of ocular Epstein-Barr virus infection.
Ocular manifestations have been attributed to the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), largely on the basis of seroepidemiologic data. Two patients who developed conjunctival disease as the presenting feature of EBV infection are reported, each confirmed by in situ hybridization of EBV genome in affected tissue biopsy specimens. Recognition of EBV-induced ocular disease as an initial presentation of clini...
متن کاملHepatic manifestations of Epstein-Barr viral infection.
UNLABELLED Little information exists in the international scientific or medical literature about the hepatic manifestations and complications of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). The aim of this study was to describe a series of patients with hepatic manifestations of EBV infection. Our sample population was a series of patients whose hepatic dysfunction was correlated with a documented EBV infection. ...
متن کاملEpstein-Barr virus infection mechanisms
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection occurs by distinct mechanisms across different cell types. EBV infection of B cells in vitro minimally requires 5 viral glycoproteins and 2 cellular proteins. By contrast, infection of epithelial cells requires a minimum of 3 viral glycoproteins, which are capable of interacting with one or more of 3 different cellular proteins. The full complement of proteins...
