چکیده

Abstract: Aim/Background: The purpose of the study was to fabricate and evaluate atenolol loaded micro-sponge in-situ gel. Materials Methods: Oil in Emulsion Solvent Diffusion Technique used for formulation microsponges by using different levels polymers such as Eudragit RS-100 Ethyl Cellulose. prepared micro-sponges were evaluated optical microscopy, percentage yield, drug content, entrapment efficiency surface morphology studies. micro sponges into gel characterized pH, rheological behavior, vitro gelling capacity release study. Results: smicrosponges found size range 7.43 9.26?m. F1 has smallest particle while F9 largest size. product yield varies from 66.98% 89.87 %.The content be maximum F8 which is 94.19%. Similarly, 93.89%. pH. pH microsponge 7.43±0.27 9.26±0.61.Similarly, viscosity ranges 32 39 cps. data in-vitro shows that 60.12% released up 24hr. Conclusion: mirosponges laden situ effectively oil emulsion solvent diffusion method (O/O ESDM). Further, will provide benefits terms sustained/controlled release, reduces dosing frequency provides better compliance patient. Key words: Microsponge, Atenolol, Cellulose, RS-100,
