چکیده
Aim: To study the clinical profile of pseudoexfoliation (PEX) syndrome and Pseudoexfoliation glaucoma at tertiary care centre in Kashmir. Materials Methods: A cross sectional consisting 100 PEX PEXG patiens, attending general ophthalmology clinic a center kashmir. All patients underwent complete ophthalmologic evaluation including recording IOP,gonioscopy Central Corneal Thickness(CCT). Results: The cohort comprised 200 patients(100 with PEXG). There were 145(72.5) males 55(27.5%) females. highest number (120 patients) from age group between 61 70years. 145(72.5%) involved outdoor activities.153(76.5%) had bilateral involvement pseudoexfoliationand pseudoexfoliative material was present anterior lens capsule 175(49.58%) eyes. Nuclear cataract predominant type 188(48.2%)eyes. Mean IOP 17.26±7.634mmHg 24.39±4.456mmHg group. Gonioscopyshowed open angles 96.5% eyes occludable 3.5% . central corneal thickness 531.80±19.127μm. Conclusion: prevalence is found to increase age. Patients PXG more severity optic nerve damage presentation. Therefore careful assessment for detection warranted regular follow-up desired minimize extent damage.

متن کاملExploring functional candidate genes for genetic association in german patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma.
PURPOSE Pseudoexfoliation (PEX) syndrome is a generalized elastic microfibrillopathy characterized by fibrillar deposits in intra- and extraocular tissues. Genetic and nongenetic factors are known to be involved in its etiopathogenesis. This study was focused on six functional candidate genes involved in PEX material deposition and the analysis of their potential association with PEX syndrome a...
