Occupational injuries and psychological support in Chinese nurses: a cross-sectional study

ABSTRACT Objective: To assess the occupational injuries and psychological support received by nurses to investigate relationship between two. Method: This was a nation-wide cross-sectional study of working across 1858 hospitals in China. Data were collected using an online structured, self-administered questionnaire 2016 2017. Results: Nearly half respondents had experienced aggressive behavior from patients or their attendants; 13.4% on more than three occasions. 78.96% needle-stick 51.22% trauma. 20.5% believed that do not pay any attention safety. 86.1% expressed need for little moderate support. Nurses who greater at adequately addressed safety issues lowest Conclusion: We found high prevalence stress among nurses. Nursing managers address this issue implement interventions prevent reduce injuries.
