Obtention of Hard Coating Using Electrochemical Process in Aluminum-Silicon Alloys for Automotive Vehicles

چکیده

Automotive industry is searching for new ways to improve vehicles’ energy efficiency through mass reduction, using aluminum alloys. This change requires a surface protection extend the life cycle of components and anodization most used solution. research focused on intake exhaust ducts’ surfaces internal combustion engines cylinder head, which are subject chemical agents temperature variation. To working this component it necessary obtain covering protective layer. The process targeted an much larger part cast aluminum-silicon alloy head. was obtained H2SO4 solution (184 g.L-1) DC voltage starting at 20 V. Al2O3 layer obtained, inside head´s ducts, has average thickness 120 µm in accordance with proposal providing suitable protection.
