چکیده
A polarized micropulse lidar (P-MPL) employing a pulsed laser at 532 nm was developed by the Institute of Oceanographic Instrumentation, Qilu University Technology (Shandong Academy Sciences). The optomechanical structure, technical parameters, detection principle, overlap factor calculation method, and inversion methods atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) depth depolarization ratio (DR) were introduced. Continuous observations using P-MPL carried out Xi’an Meteorological Bureau, observation data analyzed. In this study, we gleaned much information on aerosols clouds, including temporal spatial variation aerosol extinction coefficient, DR, structure ABL obtained P-MPL. clouds before after short rainfall analyzed combining time-height-indication (THI) range corrected signal (RCS) DR with profiles potential temperature (PT) relative humidity (RH) detected GTS1 Digital Radiosonde. A new cloud and aerosol layer detection method based on micropulse lidar measurements
This paper introduces a new algorithm to detect aerosols and clouds based on micropulse lidar measurements. A semidiscretization processing technique is first used to inhibit the impact of increasing noise with distance. The value distribution equalization method which reduces the magnitude of signal variations with distance is then introduced. Combined with empirical threshold values, we deter...
متن کاملAerosol lidar observations of atmospheric mixing in Los Angeles: Climatology and implications for greenhouse gas observations
Atmospheric observations of greenhouse gases provide essential information on sources and sinks of these key atmospheric constituents. To quantify fluxes from atmospheric observations, representation of transport-especially vertical mixing-is a necessity and often a source of error. We report on remotely sensed profiles of vertical aerosol distribution taken over a 2 year period in Pasadena, Ca...
متن کاملA Compact Airborne High Spectral Resolution Lidar for Observations of Aerosol and Cloud Optical Properties
We are in the process of developing a nadir-viewing, aircraft-based high spectral resolution lidar (HSRL) at NASA Langley Research Center. The system is designed to measure backscatter and extinction of aerosols and tenuous clouds. The primary uses of the instrument will be to validate spaceborne aerosol and cloud observations, carry out regional process studies, and assess the predictions of c...
