Oblique Lumbar Interbody Fusion from the Right-Side Approach in the Treatment of a Patient with Left-Sided Inferior Vena Cava

نویسندگان

چکیده

Oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) can achieve better reconstruction of the spine via anatomic corridor between psoas muscle and great vessels. Despite OLIF is considered as an effective relatively safer procedure, congenital anomalies main vessels surrounding oblique may pose higher risk vascular damage, which should bear in mind deciding to use procedure. We presented a case anomalous left-sided inferior vena cava (IVC) who underwent procedure alternatively through larger aorta right muscle. The sympathetic trunk (LST) could be observed subsequently protected at medial border

INFERIOR VENA CAVA THROMBOSIS IN A PATIENT WITH ESSENTIAL THROMBOCYTHEMIA

Essential thrombocythemia is a chronic myeloproliferative disorder characterized by a sustained proliferation of megakaryocytes, which leads to increased numbers of circulating platelets. Hemorrhagic and/or thrombotic episodes are frequent, and thrombosis of both veins and arteries may develop. Vessels in unusual sites may be involved, e.g., the hepatic veins, mesenteric veins, and the dig...

Interrupted inferior vena cava and left-sided subrenal inferior vena cava: prenatal diagnosis.

An interrupted inferior vena cava (IVC) and a left-sided subrenal (postrenal) IVC with azygos or hemiazygos continuation are very rare anomalies of the IVC. The prenatal sonographic and color Doppler features of these anomalies are reported here.

Left-sided duplication of inferior vena cava: clinical implications in a patient with sigmoid adenocarcinoma.

Double inferior vena cava is a rare congenital anomaly, usually detected by computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging. Although asymptomatic, it may have a clinical significance, as it may mimic a para-aortic lymphadenopaty. A case of left-sided duplication of the inferior vena cava in a patient with sigmoid colon cancer is presented. The diagnostic pitfalls and clinical implications ar...
