چکیده
Abstract Background Surgical resection is currently the cornerstone of hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) cancer treatment. A low preoperative aerobic fitness level has been identified as a modifiable risk factor associated with complications after major abdominal surgery. person’s influenced by performing moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA). This study aims determine monitor measured levels MVPA performed among patients on waiting list for HPB surgery and their association postoperative outcomes. Methods prospective, observational multi-center cohort pilot was conducted. Patients enlisted suspicion (pre)malignancy were enrolled. Performed an Actigraph wGT3X-BT. Additionally, via Incremental Shuttle Walk Test, (post)operative variables collected from electronic patient files. The between pre- determined univariate multivariable (logistic) robust regression. Results total 38 participants, median age 66.0 (IQR 58.25–74.75) years, daily 10.7 6.9–18.0) min; only 8 participants met Dutch guidelines. Participant’s statistical analysis. Time functional recovery 5–12) days type (major/minor) in Conclusion Seventy-six percent insufficient MVPA. higher shorter time recovery.

Effect of polylactic film (Surgi-Wrap) on preventing postoperative ileus after major hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery
BACKGROUNDS/AIMS Major hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery is usually performed via an open method rather than a laparoscopic method. Postoperative ileus (POI) is a classic complication after open surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine whether polylactic film is useful in the prevention of POI. METHODS A total of 179 patients who underwent major HPB surgery between 2005 and 20...

OBJECTIVE The aim of our study is to assess the association between preoperative level of activity and recovery after breast cancer surgery measured as hospital stay, length of sick leave and self-assessed physical and mental recovery. DESIGN A prospective cohort study. SETTING Patients included were those scheduled to undergo breast cancer surgery, between February and November 2013, at tw...

AIM To determine the effects of high osmolarity contrast media (HOCM) and iso-osmolar contrast media (CM) application, with or without pressure, on hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) system. METHODS Sixty rats were divided into six equal groups as follows: Group 1: (0.9% NaCl, control), Group 2: (diatrizoate meglumine Na, ionic HOCM, Urographin), Group 3: (iodixanol, iso-osmolar non-ionic CM, Vis...
