Nutritional Quality and Yield Performance of Plum (Prunus domestica) Varieties Grown in Punjab, Pakistan

Pakistan is ranked 17th in the world for plum production, with a total output of 67,000 tonnes. In terms area and (Prunus domestica) Pakistan's second largest stone fruit, after peach. Plum domestica L.) temperate zone fruit crop, made up different varieties. This study was carried out to evaluate nutritional quality yield performance five varieties (Methley, Shakar Prune, Santa Rosa, Hersminar, Red Beaut) grown Punjab province Pakistan. samples were collected from Horticultural Research Station, Nowshera (Soon Valley), during May 2021 analyzed parameters. The maximum fresh weight (52.9g) recorded Beaut lowest (12.4 g) Methley. cultivar highest value Prune 16.4% soluble solids (TSS) 12.2% sugars content, whereas Herisminar content 14.8% 10.0%, respectively. All showed significant variation weight, (TSS), sugars. results varieties, Shakarprune cultivars highlighted as best. concluded that depend strongly on respective variety.
