Nusselt Number Prediction for Oil and Water in Solar Tubular Cavity Receivers

In this study, a numerical model was developed for prediction of Nusselt number in solar cavity receivers. Thermal oil and water were used as the working fluid. A dish concentrator with different shapes receiver, including hemispherical, cylindrical, cubical, investigated. The receiver studied under same operating conditions internal heat transfer coefficient correlation each receiver. system is investigated variation radiation, flow rate, inlet temperature fluids. thermal validated based on experimental data cylindrical using oil. results reveal that hemispherical had highest gain, coefficient, values compared to two other It could be concluded amounts improved increasing decreasing Some equations suggested rate fluid, working. application resulted higher numbers than use Consequently, high-temperature systems.
