Nurses' Knowledge and Practice Regarding Developmental Supportive Care for Preterm and Low Birth Weight Infants

Background: Developmental supportive carerecognizes the physical, psychological and emotional vulnerabilities of premature low birth weight infants. The aim this study was to assess knowledge practice nurses regarding developmental care for preterm infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Subjects method: design: A descriptive designwas used, carried out on 180 at governmental hospitals Mansoura City. Tools: Tool (1) Structured interview for nurses' personal characteristics their about infant care. (2) an observational checklist during daily nursing procedures. Results revealed that most studied had satisfactory level while them inadequate infants, there were no statistically significant relation between actual (p < 0.05). Conclusion: 64.4% more than half (56.7%) practicing Recommendations. Setting training educational programs improve performance
