چکیده
In this work we numerically investigate the flow conditions inside uniform and non-uniform street canyons well within atmospheric boundary layer. The numerical simulations use steady RANS method with near-wall modelling approach to simulate wall roughness at boundary. With aim of investigating both structure in broad terms, pedestrian comfort canyon between parallel buildings, test different configurations varied width, building width height. Turbulent are broadly expected hold physically-realistic range Reynolds number order $10^6$ considered here, where take height be a characteristic length scale, free stream velocity as velocity. addition discussing features wake flow, effects geometry on by using Extended Land Beaufort Scale for purpose. We present compare maps each our geometries.

Numerical Simulation of Wind Flow and Pollution Transport in Urban Street Canyons
In this study, a three-dimensional numerical simulation of the wind flow and pollutant transport in street canyons is carried out by a new specific solver, which is developed and coupled into an open source CFD tool box, the OpenFOAM package. The new model has been applied to study the effect of roof shapes and building heights on the flow patterns and pollutant transports in the street canyons...
متن کاملPedestrian-Level Urban Wind Flow Enhancement with Wind Catchers
Dense urban areas restrict air movement, causing airflow in urban street canyons to be much lower than the flow above buildings. Boosting near-ground wind speed can enhance thermal comfort in warm climates by increasing skin convective heat transfer. We explored the potential of a wind catcher to direct atmospheric wind into urban street canyons. We arranged scaled-down models of buildings with...
متن کاملConcentration and flow distributions in urban street canyons: wind tunnel and computational data
The goal of this paper is to present bluff body flow and transport from steady point sources of pollutants, or chemical and biological agents in an idealized urban environment This paper includes ventilation behavior in different street canyon configurations. To evaluate dispersion in a model urban street canyon, a series of tests with various street canyon aspect ratios (B=H) are presented. Bo...
متن کاملNumerical and Physical Modeling of Bluff body Flow and Dispersion in Urban Street Canyons
To develop reliable computer models for the bluff body flow and transport of pollutants or chemical and biological (CB) agents in urban environments requires accurate measurements of the basic flow fields for carefully controlled, well-known conditions. Fluid modeling in an Industrial Wind Tunnel provides an opportunity to produce accurate simulations of the bluff body flow and transport of urb...
متن کاملDynamical Modeling of Stochastic Wind Flow in Street Canyons
For decades, the borders of building studies were restricted up to the exterior walls. With better understanding the side effect of urbanization on human health and with excessive progress in new investigation tools, the area of building studies were enlarged to neighborhood environment where mass and air transport vividly interacts with the buildings. Unlike the indoor studies, one can emphasi...
