چکیده
To study the fatigue failure of an intermittent jointed rock mass under repeated stress waves, numerical models masses with different joint angles were created using Autodyne software, and crack propagation behavior was simulated Drucker–Prager strength model cumulative damage criteria. In this simulation, influence wave amplitude mode disturbance on analyzed. The simulation results showed a significant difference between process subjected to waves those exposed single wave, including initiation locations, paths, patterns. With increasing inclination, life first decreased then increased waves. As inclination angle, β , from 20° 50°, it had mass, which rapidly increases in β. variation form (the change small large, or large small) did not affect final macro pattern mass; but extent affected.

Microplane damage model for jointed rock masses
The paper presents a new microplane constitutive model for the inelastic behavior of jointed rock masses that takes into account the mechanical behavior and geometric characteristics of cracks and joints. The basic idea is that the microplane modeling of rock masses under general triaxial loading, including compression, requires the isotropic rock matrix and the joints to be considered as two d...
متن کاملVariation of Failure Mechanisms of Slopes in Jointed Rock Masses with Changing Scale
This paper demonstrates the ability of Shear Strength Reduction (SSR) analysis based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) to model the scale effects of discontinuity networks on the stability and failure mechanisms of slopes in blocky rock masses. Through three examples, it shows how these mechanisms depend on joint network geometry and change with increasing slope height. Introduction Scale Effe...
متن کاملDiscrete element modeling of explosion-induced fracture extension in jointed rock masses
The explosion process of explosives in a borehole applies a very high pressure on its surrounding rock media. This process can initiate and propagate rock fractures, and finally, may result in the rock fragmentation. Rock fragmentation is mainly caused by the propagation of inherent pre-existing fractures of the rock mass and also from the extension of the newly formed cracks within the intact ...

Laboratory and Numerical Modelling of a Jointed Rock Mass
Laboratory tests were performed on 54 large size specimens of jointed rock mass under uniaxial loading conditions. Based on this experimental study, a methodology has been suggested to estimate strength and tangent modulus of rock masses through a weakness coefficient. The methodology involves mapping of joints in the field and laboratory testing of intact rock specimens to arrive at rock mass ...
