چکیده
Stress arching effect during the excavation of broken surrounding rock in underground engineering has an important influence on stability after excavation. To determine stress horizontally layered jointed mass, characteristics mass is analyzed this study by using a series numerical tests. The formation mechanism arch revealed through comparison voussoir beam structure and theoretical analysis multi-block mechanical relationship mass. method for determining boundaries zone proposed, various factors further discussed. Results show that bunch (SAB) formed lower strata above cavern, global (GSA) higher strata, both which are symmetrical patterns. SAB manifestation several low-level sandstone layers, GSA caused uneven displacement between blocks. Compared with GSA, more sensitive to influencing factors. extent decreases increase internal friction angle joint, lateral pressure coefficient, overburden depth. In addition, joint spacing conducive development arch. can provide technical support deformation control engineering.

Laboratory and Numerical Modelling of a Jointed Rock Mass
Laboratory tests were performed on 54 large size specimens of jointed rock mass under uniaxial loading conditions. Based on this experimental study, a methodology has been suggested to estimate strength and tangent modulus of rock masses through a weakness coefficient. The methodology involves mapping of joints in the field and laboratory testing of intact rock specimens to arrive at rock mass ...

متن کاملShear wave propagation in jointed rock: state of stress
The mechanical characteristics and orientation of joints determine the behaviour of rock masses, including the strength, the stiffness, and all forms of conduction and diffusion. Furthermore, the preferential orientation of joints renders the medium anisotropic. In turn, these properties affect the velocity and damping of propagating elastic waves. The purpose of this study is to investigate th...
