Numerical simulation of paraffin melting in circular tube using lattice Boltzmann method

Paraffin melting is widely used in the fields of phase change materials energy storage, gathering and transportation pipe-line paraffin removal, etc. Analysis mechanism influencing factors circular tube deeply has important guiding significance for improving heat storage capacity by changing structure material device ensuring safe crude-oil pipe-line. A double distribution lattice Boltzmann model based on enthalpy method established to simulate temperature field flow a this paper. The influence different Rayleigh Prandtl numbers process analyzed. results show that natural-convection strengthened with increase number, decrease average Nusselt number wall smooth transition stage wax due existence fuzzy zone. rate can be accelerated or reduced controlling so as meet relevant requirements engineering.
