Numerical simulation of flow pattern at a divergent pier in a bend with different relative curvature radii using ansys fluent

In this work, the three-dimensional flow around piers in river meanders under rigid bed conditions was modeled. The software ANSYS FLUENT used to perform simulation. study carried out a 180° curve accompanied by cylindrical with diameter of 5 cm and slope angle 21° conditions. results comparisons showed that model can help simulate pattern inclined bridge bended channels acceptable accuracy. To analyze pattern, work followed studying effect parameters affect physics problem: relative radius curvature curve, location within arrangement direction. increasing as well range bend reduced tangential velocity values; minimum value occurred at 5. With pier group installed direction flow, maximum secondary power 60° position about 18.8%, while across 120° 14.2%. A comparison vorticity perpendicular downstream positions values were greater than corresponding 90° both cases.
