Numerical Simulation of Bottom-Blowing Stirring in Different Smelting Stages of Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking

Electric arc furnace (EAF) steel bottom-blowing can effectively improve the temperature and composition uniformity of molten pool during smelting process. To explore effect molten-steel characteristics on at various stages smelting, we divided process EAF into four stages: melting stage, early decarburization intermediate ending stage. The numerical simulation software ANSYS Fluent 18.2 was used to simulate velocity field under condition stirring in different steelmaking properties kinetic conditions steel-slag this interface were investigated. Our results showed that a gas flow rate 100 L/min, average rates v1 = 0.0081 m/s, v2 0.0069 v3 0.0063 v4 0.0053 m/s. physical model verification confirmed results, is, viscosity decreased as progressed, caused by agitation also decreased, decreased.
