Numerical Simulation of Alternative Smoke Control Approach in a High-Rise Building

Smoke inhalation is a major cause of death in fire accident. Three quarters building casualties were the result excessive smoke inhalation, even with presence control system. One main reasons to high percentage fatality poor circulation and exhaustion smoke. A proposed system, including an integrated ACMV exhaust additional louver, will be simulated compared current conventional approach, fixed pressurization The purpose this study determine effectiveness newly approach exhaustion. Results showed that path obscuration for system room displayed lowered value 8.77 %, as 9.71% due greater propagation out room. results are agreement there noticeably faster subsiding hot air temperature at corridor than after peak spread 115 seconds. concluded louver more effective design.
