Numerical Prediction of Bond-Slip Behavior in Simple Pull-Out Concrete Specimens

In this study the simple pullout concrete cylinder specimen reinforced by a single steel bar was analyzed for bond-slip behavior. Three-dimension nonlinear finite element model using ANSYS program employed to behavior of bond between and plain reinforcement. The includes eight-noded isoperimetric brick (SOLID65) while reinforcing modeled as truss member (LINK8). Interface (CONTAC52) used in analysis bar. Material nonlinearity due cracking and/or crushing concrete, yielding were taken into consideration during analysis. accuracy is investigated comparing numerical with that predicted from experimental results three pulloutspecimens. Good agreement solution obtained.
