NUMERICAL MODELS’ APPLICATION FOR MORPHODYNAMICS ASSESSMENT OF CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS IN THE MINHO RIVER ESTUARY

چکیده
The knowledge of physical, biological, and chemical estuarine processes how they are affected by climate change conditions is essential for improving management. A common methodological approach studying these complex based on the implementation numerical models supported field data as bathymetry, sediment characteristics, flow discharges, current velocities, sea water levels. This work a model Minho River estuary using Delft3D software. able to simulate hydrodynamic morphodynamic different time scales. It was calibrated OpenDA tool, which automatically determines some models’ parameters, such tidal constituents roughness coefficient, aiming minimize error between observed simulated results. Different scenarios were considered assess effects change, according 5th Assessment Report Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change (IPCC). Results showed that elevation in mouth can reach 77 cm, depending scenario. also determined floods main transport driver along estuary, intensifying accretion processes. Furthermore, sea-level rise reduces amount transported sediments coastal platform, increasing erosion risk this area inside estuary.

15 صفحه اولInvestigation of climate change impacts on streamflow regime of a river Arazkooseh River Basin
In this research, impacts of climate change on the streamflow hydrological status of the Arazkooseh River are discussed. After Calibration and validation of the LARS-WG, HadCM3 was downscaled under A2 Scenario in three climatology station. Beside, calibration and validation of the SWAT model were done by observed data relative to past period of times. Streamflow values are then predicted using ...

متن کاملUse of multi-model ensembles from global climate models for assessment of climate change impacts
Multi-model ensembles of climate predictions constructed by running several global climate models for a common set of experiments are available for impact assessment of climate change. Multi-model ensembles emphasize the uncertainty in climate predictions resulting from structural differences in the global climate models as well as uncertainty due to variations in initial conditions or model pa...
