چکیده

Inter-turn short circuit fault (ITSCF) can be a great threat for the safety and effectiveness of generator. In this paper, simulation model with experimental platform is established to diagnose ITSCF in stator windings. A based on Finite Element Method (FEM) designed ANSYS. Stator current used calculating Root-Mean-Square (RMS) value, phase difference, symmetrical components, Park’s vector trajectory’s Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). It was found that when happened, three currents no longer symmetrical. The ratio negative positive sequence raises from 0.40 14.18 0.52 19.89 experiment normal condition 7 turns shorted. same trend seen trajectory analysis where eccentricity 0.03 0.65 0.14 0.75 experiment. Phase difference phases at 120° degree deviation as occurs winding. THD also increased increase level. results show good consistency results. performed research are major indications serious DFIG.

Recognition and Location of Power Transformer Turn to Turn Fault by Analysis of Winding Imposed Forces

Turn to turn fault is one of the major internal failures in the power transformers that if it is not quickly detected, can be extended and led to a complete transformer breakdown. So, the diagnosis and location of the turn to turn fault of the power transformer, as one of the most important equipment in the power system, is the main objective of this paper. For this purpose, a detailed model of...

A Comprehensive Mathematical Model for Analysis of WR-Resolvers under Stator Short Circuit Fault

Wound-Rotor (WR) resolvers are the most widely used position sensors in applications with harsh environmental conditions. However, their performance is exposed to failure due to the high risk of short circuit (SC) fault. Although the output current of the resolver is negligible, its thin copper wires increase the probability of the short circuit fault. To avoid the propagation of the turn-to-tu...

Inter-Turn Stator Winding Fault Diagnosis in Three-phase Induction Motors, by Park's Vector Approach

The subject of on-line detection and location of inter-turn short circuits in the stator windings of three-phase induction motors is discussed, and a noninvasive approach, based on the computer-aided monitoring of the stator current Parks Vector, is introduced. Experimental results, obtained by using a special fault producing test rig, demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique, fo...

Detection of Stator Winding Inter-Turn Short Circuit Faults in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors and Automatic Classification of Fault Severity via a Pattern Recognition System

In this study, automatic detection of stator winding inter-turn short circuit fault (SWISCFs) in surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSMs) and automatic classification of fault severity via a pattern recognition system (PRS) are presented. In the case of a stator short circuit fault, performance losses become an important issue for SPMSMs. To detect stator winding short circu...

Stator Fault Detection in Induction Machines by Parameter Estimation Using Adaptive Kalman Filter

This paper presents a parametric low differential order model, suitable for mathematically analysis for Induction Machines with faulty stator. An adaptive Kalman filter is proposed for recursively estimating the states and parameters of continuous–time model with discrete measurements for fault detection ends. Typical motor faults as interturn short circuit and increased winding resistance ...
