Numerical Investigation on Thermal–Hydraulic Performance of a Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger for Liquid Air Energy Storage System

A printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) is utilized to cool the compressor inlet air increase compression efficiency in a liquid energy storage and natural gas (LNG) coupled system, which can offer large-scale with significantly improved exergy round-trip efficiency. In this work, effect of pressure air, incline angle, hydraulic diameter on performance compressed air–water PCHE semicircle cross-section was studied. The results show that realize intermediate cooling variation shows limited transfer PCHE; however, angle both affect flow resistance PCHE, best 15°.
