چکیده

A numerical study was carried out to investigate the thermal and flow fields of a two-dimensional vented cavity subjected forced convection turbulent flow. The with three distinct configurations inlet outlet ports having different cases top surfaces, i.e. flat, semi-elliptical semi-circular studied numerically for range Reynolds numbers. objective is effect curved wall surface on heat transfer in ports. various results were presented streamlines fields. variations pressure-drop coefficient, local Nusselt number average also evaluated. show significant dependence exchange pressure drop number, location ports, height surface. rate enhanced by increasing surface, but relatively high-pressure observed given number. On contrary, positioned same axis, displayed an improved performance terms maximum minimum drop.

Numerical study of turbulent forced convection jet flow of nanofluid in a converging sinusoidal channel

Research in convective heat transfer using suspensions of nanometer-sized solid particles in base liquids started only over the past decade. Recent investigations on nanofluid, as such suspensions are often called, indicate that the suspended nanoparticles remarkably change the transport properties and heat transfer characteristics of the suspension. Bending walls can also improve heat transfer...

Numerical Simulation of Reciprocating Flow Forced Convection in Two-Dimensional Channels

Numerical simulations of laminar, forced convection heat transfer for reciprocating, twodimensional channel flows are performed as a function of the penetration length, Womersley (a) and Prandtl (Pr) numbers. The numerical algorithm is based on a spectral element formulation, which enables high-order spatial resolution with exponential decay of discretization errors, and second-order time-accur...

Numerical Study of Single Phase/Two-Phase Models for Nanofluid Forced Convection and Pressure Drop in a Turbulence Pipe Flow

In this paper, the problem of turbulent forced convection flow of water- alumina nanofluid in a uniformly heated pipe has been thoroughly investigated. In numerical study, single and two-phase models have been used. In single-phase modeling of nanofluid, thermal and flow properties of nanofluid have been considered to be dependent on temperature and volume fraction. Effects of volume fraction a...
