Numerical Assessment on Continuous Reinforced Normal-Strength Concrete and High-Strength Concrete Beams

چکیده

High-strength concrete (HSC) has been broadly applied to various civil structures for its advantages including high compressive strength and excellent durability creep resistance. However, the brittleness of HSC raises concern about use in practice. So far study on continuous reinforced beams is limited. This work investigates structural response beams, results are compared with those counterparts made normal-strength (NSC). By applying a finite element method verified by experimental data, comprehensive assessment performed two-span NSC (compressive strengths 30, 60 90 MPa) beams. A wide range flexural reinforcement ratios used cover both under-reinforced over-reinforced The show that exhibit better performance terms ultimate load, deformation, ductility moment redistribution, when Formulae relating redistribution either neutral axis depth or tensile steel strain suggested.

Shear Strength of Slender Reinforced Concrete Beams without Web Reinforcement

This paper attempt to predict the shear strength of high strength concrete beam with different shear span of depth ratio without web reinforcement. The large data base available has been clustered and a linear equation analysis has been performed . The prepared models are functions of compressive strength , percentage of flexural reinforcement and depth of beam. The proposed models have been va...

A Study on Behaviour of Normal Strength Concrete and High Strength Concrete Subjected to Elevated Temperatures

Cement concrete is a complex mixture of different materials. Behaviour of concrete depends on its mix proportions and constituents when it is subjected to elevated temperatures. Principal effects due to elevated temperatures are loss in compressive strength, loss in weight or mass, change in colour and spall of concrete. The experimental results of normal concrete and high strength concrete sub...

Flexural Testing of High Strength Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with CFRP Sheets

The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of externally bonded CFRP sheets to increase the flexural strength of reinforced high strength concrete (HSC) beams. Four-point bending flexural tests to complete failure on six concrete beams, strengthened with different layouts of CFRP sheets were conducted. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element (FE) models were adopted by A...

Experimental Study on Calculation Methods for Short-term Cracks in High-strength Reinforced Concrete Beams

Abstract: High-strength steel has increasingly become widely used among various engineering practices, but the relevant provisions of the codes lag behind its development. Six sets of experiments on simple supported beams reinforced with HTB600 and HTB700 rebars subject to bending loading were conducted in this study to 1) investigate the conditions of crack development, 2) contrast the calcula...
