Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Three-Dimensional Flow in Combined Protective Canister Filters

چکیده

This work deals with the numerical and experimental investigation of flow in protective filters which combine fibrous pleats absorbent cartridge. The through complete 3D geometry all parts filters, including complex pleats, is numerically modeled using high-quality computational grids. sorbent filling, textile dividers as well material filtration are porous media coefficients quadratic Forchheimer equation derived from experiments laboratory located at SIGMA Research Development Institute. A comprehensive CFD analysis has been carried out ANSYS CFX package SST turbulence model, combines advantages both high- low-Reynolds number models. fully parametric description enables generation structured grids for a wide range pleat heights widths to use shape optimization process. simulations show very good agreement calculated measured pressure drop variants combined filter. To simulate real application filter, unsteady follow human breathing pattern have performed rate corresponding increased activity.
