Numerical Analysis of Tube Heat Exchanger with Trimmed Star-Shaped Fins

چکیده

In some engineering applications, it is very desirable that the heat exchanger as light possible while maintaining transfer rate at an acceptable level. this context, possibility of reducing weight with star-shaped fins by cutting off thermally least efficient part fin was investigated. For purpose, rear trimmed to Ø28, Ø31 and Ø34 mm. Numerical analysis used determine influence each variant on flow characteristics in air–water for range 2300 < Re 16,000. The best results were obtained trimming Ø28 With a 5.53% reduction weight, can be increased up 8.12% compared without trimming. pressure drop reduced 0.92%. also perforated (perforation Ø2). At approximately same increase coefficient 5.75% 0.76% fins.
