Numerical Analysis of Ground Settlement Patterns Resulting from Tunnel Excavation in Composite Strata

Cross-river twin tunnels are prone to deformation and uneven settlement of the surrounding soil due complexity strata crossed, which has a negative impact on tunnel structure. A numerical calculation model was established using COMSOL Multiphysics study effects excavation in composite ground pattern. The results indicated that after construction is completed, above first slightly larger than second tunnel. further spacing between two before excavation, smaller amount soil. value increases with increase burial depth, curve gradually changes from W-shaped V-shaped curve. As distance increases, maximum decreases, lateral W-shaped. higher water level riverbed side, greater ground.
