Nueva Ecija’s Philippine Lime (Citrofortunella microcarpa) Agribusiness Industry: Marketing Disputes and Economic Outlooks

Philippine lime or calamansi is considered one of the high-value crops in Nueva Ecija province. This article presents some issues and problems industry terms marketing. The study used a descriptive survey 56 farm-owners growers. Findings revealed that production could be stable income source if growers provide necessary inputs on sustainable basis. Calamansi farmers province are often confronted with following problems: high cost farm inputs, price fluctuations, manipulation big-time traders, other intermediaries. also found existing actors chain were limited to growers, laborers, agri-supply shops, nursery owners, intermediaries, traders. In trading, there degree competition among traders market. findings results from this may important factors developing designing effective agricultural marketing program startegic development plan by authorities region.
