Nucleon-nucleus optical potential computed with the Gogny interaction

Abstract The ability of the Gogny forces D1 family to describe nucleon-nucleus scattering is studied. To this end, we use an optical model (OM) potential built up using a semi-microscopic nuclear matter (NM) approach. real and imaginary parts OM are provided by first second-order terms, respectively, Taylor expansion mass operator calculated within Brueckner–Hartree–Fock (BHF) method reaction G -matrix with effective force instead microscopic interaction. in finite nuclei obtained through local density approximation (LDA) neutron proton densities quasi-local Hartree–Fock (HF) calculation same for sake consistency. A reasonable good agreement found between theoretical differential cross-sections analyzing powers (AP) elastic along periodic table from Ca Pb corresponding values predicted global phenomenological Koning Delaroche. investigate limits approximations used work, comparisons results 40 48 structure (NSM) also performed.
