Novel Thermally Stable Segmented Solid Paraboloid Antenna for High Surface Accuracy

The rapidly growing communication demands in our society require the design of high-performance solid paraboloid antennas with extremely high surface accuracy, which remains a challenge due to inevitable thermal deformations. This paper proposes novel thermally stable segmented antenna accuracy. In this design, reflector is divided into certain number pieces, each then individually supported by an innovative grid structure. An analytical model based on Sanders improved first-approximation shell theory developed predict deformation surface, proposed segmenting method improving accuracy theoretically approved. working mechanism structure that deformations at supporting points can maintain minimum level verified using finite element analysis. A case study performed practical environment demonstrate largely suppress compared continuous antenna. provides and useful engineering solution for achieve under various conditions.
