Novel Spinel Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Reactions: An Overview

The energy demand generated by fossil fuels is increasing day day, and it has drastically increased after the COVID-19 pandemic as industries household utilities rejuvenate. Renewable sources are thus becoming more essential easily available, alternative methods of low-cost generation. Among these renewables, solar energy, i.e., power, a promising source can be used for solar-based H2 evolution because technology leading eco-friendly electricity generation, most worldwide efforts to develop this method involve heterogeneous catalysis via water splitting its storage, using fuel cell. In current scenario, there need stable, recyclable, reusable catalyst system, which great challenge. study, we have focused on novel ferrite magnetic nanomaterials recyclable robust photocatalysis. Moreover, discussions factors contributing photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, synthesis techniques, prospects making them ideal photocatalysts uncommon in literature. study will impart possible approaches design development their nanocomposites generation forthcoming years.

A novel amorphous cobalt tin composite oxide decorated with graphene nanohybrid (CoSnxOy/G) sensitized by Eosin Y (EY) exhibited excellent photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity (974.6 μmol for 3 h) under visible light irradiation. The highest AQE of EY-CoSnxOy/G of 20.1% was achieved at 430 nm.
