Abstract Digital microfluidics (DMF) is a versatile fluid handling tool that widely used in the biochemical field. There are very high requirements for volume of single droplet many applications. Droplet dispensing and splitting two main operations to generate DMF. Therefore, generation droplets with precision accuracy one keys efficient application DMF analysis. We have developed novel scheme where electrode geometry optimized. The liquid column can contract regular shape, which keep neck shape uniform stable, position pinch-off point was fixed; meanwhile, tail eliminated before pinching off, so were greatly improved. increase radius cutting electrodes elongated increased curvature at point, further effectively improved volume. optimized also be applied unequal effectively.
